Helping Westfly

Be part of something big! There are many ways you can help Westfly be all that it can be. Share your talents, your thoughts, and--yes--maybe even a little of your money. Here are a few things you do to help Westfly fulfill its misson.

Make a Donation

Become a Westfly donor and get a free gift! Westfly is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, so your donation is tax-deductible. Money is used to keep Westfly on the air and for projects that will improve western fly fishing. Be a donor at one of the levels below and receive a free gift!

1. Patron--$100 or more. Receive: Westfly logo hat, special logo coffee mug with "Patron" on it, logo fly box, logo window decal, iron-on patch.
2. Benfactor--$60. Receive: Westfly logo coffee mug, logo fly box, logo window decal, iron-on patch.
3. Contributor--$35. Receive: Westfly logo fly box. logo window decal, iron-on patch.
4. Donor--$15. Receive: Westfly logo window decal, iron-on patch.

Serve on a Committee

Westfly has several committees:

1. Fly Patterns. This committee helps to keep Westfly's fly pattern database up-to-date with the latest and best patterns. The committee recommends new patterns for the database, reviews the format of the fly pattern pages, and makes other suggestions to keep Westfly the best source of western fly patterns on the internet.
2. Bulletin Board. Westfly's Bulletin Board (Forum) is one of the most active forums of its kind on the internet. The committee helps keep the Board in top-notch-shape by making suggestions for improving it, reviewing suggested changes, etc.
3. Review Committee. Westfly frequently runs reviews of new equipment, books, places to stay, and so on. This committee tries out new gear, reads book, goes places--then writes about it.
4. Project Committee. Westfly actively seeks worthy projects that it can make a financial contribution to. The Project Committee reviews--and seeks out--suitable projects.
5. Technical Committee. Westfly is a complicated technical product, the inctricies of which are sometimes beyond the technical skills of the Executive Director, Scott Richmond (aka Uncle Fuzzy). If you have skills in Linux, MySQL, JavaScript, perl, or other technical fields, be part of the group that keeps Westfly abreast of the technical times.

Promote Westfly

Westfly does not advertise. The only way fly anglers find the website is through search engines and through word-of-mouth. Be one of those mouths! Tell any fly fisher you know about Westfly and all that it has to offer--and how it is a non-profit website that contributes to improvements in fish habitat, public access, and other worthy projects.
