New Home Page Debuts

Westfly's new home page is packed with links and new features to help users keep up-to-date with everything from the latest hatches to the hottest Board topics. This is THE page you'll want to bookmark.

estfly has a new home page. This is the page you get when you type www.westfly.com for a URL or click "Home" on the top navigation line.

The old home page was just an old-fashioned "splash" page that said you were on Westfly. The new page is highly functional. The top section contains:

1. Recent articles. The newest articles get a longer description than before, so users can better judge the relevance of the content.
2. Fly of the Week. This is a new feature on Westfly; each week a different fly--appropriate to the time of year--is shown and is linked to. Click on the link and you'll go to the fly's recipe.
3. Food of the Month. Another new feature, similar to fly of the month but focusing on a seasonally-appropriate fish food. Click on the link and you'll learn more about that food.
4. Recent blog entries. A new blog, "The Fuzzy Chronicles," is highlighted. The most recent entries are described. Click on the title and you'll go to that blog entry.

State Roundup

The next section is a state-by-state roundup. For each state you'll find:

1. A photo and the state name. Click on either one and you'll go to the home page for that state.
2. A link to a current fishing forecast.
3. A link to current conditions (river levels, links to weather, hatches, etc.) for major fisheries.
4. Hot Board topics. The five most popular Board topics are listed for each state; click on the title and go to it.
5. Coming events. Upcoming events such as seminars, fly club talks, etc., are listed, if there are any.

The Page to Bookmark

"This is the page you'll want to bookmark," says Scott Richmond, Westfly creator and Executive Director. "Even if you mostly use the Board for your state, bookmark this new home page because it will show you at glance what's happening on your favorite Board as well as other Boards."

Almost everything on the new home page is a link to some valuable resource on Westfly. It's THE starting place to find out what's going on.
