Auction Time!

ever Trust a Fat Guy in a Red Suit!" That's the theme of Westfly's December Be-Your-Own Santa auction, which runs Monday, December 4 through Friday, December 8. Over 80 items will be auctioned online, with a retail value of more than $9,000.

Money raised through the auction will be used to fund various projects such as fish habitat and public access. A special beneficiary of this auction is Casting for Recovery, a group that helps breast cancer survivors by setting up fly fishing retreats. Auction money also helps keep Westfly on the air, but Westfly's goal is to spend less than 33 percent of its income on maintaining the website; the remainder is to be used for projects that advance the quality of Western fly fishing.

The auction begins Monday, December 4 at 8:00 a.m. The last day is Friday, the 8th, but the closing times are on a rolling schedule, as in the past; that means bidding will close at different times during the day depending on the item.
